Description

Manage and optimize mainframe database environments, ensuring system efficiency and availability. This role owns the full lifecycle of database administration, from performance tuning and security hardening to infrastructure automation and software development.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Upgrade software, operating systems, and utilities to support infrastructure platforms.
• Monitor batch jobs and optimize database performance for system efficiency.
• Apply security measures to protect databases and support disaster recovery drills.
• Design, develop, and debug software programs for system enhancements.
• Automate build pipelines and manage infrastructure configuration using CI/CD tools.

Required Skills

• 14+ years of experience in database administration or mainframe application development.
• Proficiency in COBOL, DB2, and IMS.
• Experience with JCL, Zeke, File Aid, Changeman, CA7, TWS, and Endevor.
• Hands-on experience with GitHub and ServiceNow for configuration management.
• Experience using Jenkins for build pipeline automation and packaging.
• Ability to analyze large data sets to identify patterns and drive architectural improvements.
• Strong technical troubleshooting and debugging skills within mainframe environments.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with mainframe security protocols and compliance standards.
• Familiarity with additional mainframe middleware or batch scheduling tools.
