Description

Own database administration for Sybase ASE 15.7 and SQL Server environments during a multi-year migration.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Execute Unix command-line operations and develop CRON jobs to support Sybase ASE 15.7.
• Manage SQL Server clustering and disaster recovery tasks.
• Troubleshoot database issues within a structured change control environment.
• Support development, test, and production systems, including after-hours implementations and weekly data fixes.
• Participate in an on-call rotation from Saturday morning to Monday morning.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in database administration.
• Proficiency with Sybase ASE environments, specifically version 15.7.
• Experience managing SQL Server environments.
• Strong Unix skills including command-line operations and CRON job development.
• Familiarity with Windows Servers.
• Knowledge of clustering and disaster recovery practices.
• Any Graduate degree.

Preferred Skills

• Direct experience with Sybase ASE 15.7.
• Experience or interest in Sybase to SQL Server migration projects.
