Description

You will manage on-premises SQL Server and Azure SQL PaaS environments, ensuring high availability, security, and cost efficiency.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, patch, and secure on-premises SQL Server instances and Azure SQL Database/Managed Instance.
• Provision geo-replication, failover groups, and optimize cloud database costs.
• Configure Databricks clusters, manage Unity Catalog access, and schedule Spark workloads.
• Build, troubleshoot, and optimize Azure Data Factory pipelines and SSIS packages.
• Perform query tuning, indexing strategy, execution plan analysis, and implement resource governance.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of strong administration experience with SQL Server 2016+ (installation, upgrades, patching).
• Hands-on experience with Azure SQL Database and Managed Instance, including scaling and failover management.
• Expertise in backup/recovery strategies, point-in-time restore, and disaster recovery planning.
• Proficiency in T-SQL, PowerShell, and Azure CLI for automation and administration.
• Experience with Azure Data Factory, SSIS, and Databricks integration.
• Knowledge of Always On Availability Groups, log shipping, and high availability configurations.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Azure networking (VNets, private endpoints) and monitoring tools.
• Familiarity with IaC tools (ARM, Bicep, Terraform) and CI/CD concepts.
• Knowledge of encryption, auditing, compliance standards, and performance tuning.
