Description

You manage the full lifecycle of DB2 mainframe databases, from analysis through decommissioning, while supporting z/OS database initiatives.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Manage the complete lifecycle of DB2 mainframe databases, including analysis, implementation, and decommissioning.
• Develop and maintain REXX and Python scripts to automate database operations and monitor performance.
• Extract and analyze SMF data to identify bottlenecks and optimize DB2 performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure database integrity, security, and successful project delivery.

Required Skills

• Minimum of 5 years of experience working with DB2 databases on mainframe systems.
• Deep knowledge of SMF data analysis techniques and interpretation.
• Proficiency in REXX programming for mainframe automation.
• Working proficiency in Python programming for scripting and automation tasks.
• Experience using Splunk tools for monitoring and log analysis.
• Familiarity with z/OS database initiatives and mainframe environment workflows.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with database lifecycle management in large-scale enterprise environments.
• Strong analytical skills with a focus on detail and performance optimization.
