Description

You will manage DB2 z/OS environments across development, QA, and production subsystems within OLTP and OLAP contexts. You own the release pipeline, database integrity, and performance tuning for critical enterprise data.

Responsibilities

• Design and create RDBMS objects, including tables, views, indexes, tablespaces, and stored procedures.
• Manage replication subscriptions using IBM CDC and Qrep, including setup, configuration, and monitoring.
• Develop and maintain backup and recovery procedures, batch jobs for database utilities, and naming standards.
• Perform database monitoring, tuning, and capacity planning to support application performance.
• Provide technical guidance to programmers and assist in physical data modeling and functional prototyping.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience with DB2 z/OS databases.
• Expertise in RDBMS object design and physical data modeling using Power Designer.
• Hands-on experience with IBM CDC and Qrep replication setup.
• Proficiency in the SDLC cycle for database administration and production support.
• Experience managing database objects within OLTP and OLAP environments.
• Ability to develop and implement database administration policies and procedures.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate across IT disciplines.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills for documentation and mentorship.

Preferred Skills

• Working knowledge of Oracle databases.
