Description

You will manage and support complex SQL Server environments with a focus on high availability and disaster recovery.

Responsibilities

• Manage SQL Server installations, including patch management, service packs, and upgrades for development and test environments.
• Monitor database integrity, replication, backups, and clustered environments to ensure recoverability and uptime.
• Execute scripts provided by Systems Analysts or Database Architects to create and modify database objects such as tables, views, constraints, and indexes.
• Monitor space allocation, calculate disk requirements, and modify DBMS parameters to manage capacity.
• Troubleshoot database functionality, connectivity, and downtime issues using alert logs and trace files.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of database administration experience specifically on SQL Server 2016 and upwards.
• Expertise in High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.
• Experience implementing Transparent Data Encryption within SQL Server.
• 3+ years of experience creating, updating, and maintaining systems documentation.
• Proficiency working with SQL Server, Systems Analysts, and Database Architects.
• Ability to perform 24x7 software and hardware support for complex applications.
• Experience managing database fragmentation and space release strategies.

Preferred Skills

• Enforce database standards, policies, and procedures while researching new guidelines.
