Description

You will manage and maintain database systems and security protocols under the supervision of the IT manager. You own the full lifecycle of database modifications, from testing programs to correct errors to implementing necessary changes.

Responsibilities

• Modify existing databases and management systems, directing programmers and analysts to execute changes.
• Plan and implement security measures to safeguard information against unauthorized damage, modification, or disclosure.
• Coordinate database development within project teams to determine scope and limitations.
• Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers.
• Test programs and databases to correct errors and implement modifications.

Required Skills

• 5 years of progressive post-Baccalaureate experience in SDLC.
• 2 years of direct experience in database administration.
• Proficiency in SQL and Database Design.
• Experience with Data Modeling and Performance Tuning.
• Working knowledge of Unix environments.
• Experience with Database Management System Software and Backup or Archival Software.
• Familiarity with Metadata Management Software and Object or Component Oriented Development Software.
• Ability to travel to various client sites across the USA.

Preferred Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related technology field.
