Description

You will manage, design, and operate Sybase database systems to ensure high availability and performance.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and operate database systems for maximum reliability and performance.
• Administer production and development databases, including installation, configuration, and patching.
• Manage Sybase Server migrations, upgrades, security, and policy management.
• Implement and maintain at least two HA solutions and two DR solutions for Sybase.
• Execute Change Request management and resource governing.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience in Sybase database administration.
• Proven experience with Sybase Server migration, upgrades, and patching.
• Working knowledge of Sybase Server security and policy management.
• Experience with HA and DR solutions for Sybase environments.
• Proficiency in Shell scripting.
• Experience working in both Linux and Windows environments.
• Strong database performance tuning and troubleshooting skills.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cloud technologies including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience operating and scaling services using AWS components such as EBS, EC2, ELB, RDS, and EMR.
• Programming experience with Perl or PowerShell.
