Description

You will deploy, manage, and optimize MongoDB Atlas databases in production environments to ensure high availability, performance, and security compliance.

Responsibilities

• Set up, configure, and maintain MongoDB Atlas clusters, including sharding, replica sets, and data distribution strategies.
• Analyze performance metrics to implement optimization strategies for queries, indexing, and data access patterns.
• Implement security best practices and compliance requirements such as GDPR, COPPA, and FERPA through encryption and access control.
• Develop and test comprehensive backup, recovery, and disaster recovery plans based on RPO and RTO requirements.
• Automate routine maintenance, data migrations, and schema changes using Python or other scripting languages.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in database administration and architectural design.
• Hands-on expertise with MongoDB Atlas and MySQL.
• Strong understanding of both relational and non-relational database architectures.
• Experience with AWS and cloud-based high availability/high scalability product design.
• Proficiency in performance auditing, tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting across on-prem and cloud platforms.
• Skill in data modeling and schema auditing.
• Experience using monitoring tools such as AWS CloudWatch, Prometheus, or Grafana.
• Knowledge of database maintenance including log management, backups, restores, and cleanup.
• Ability to define and maintain configuration baselines for resource allocation and replication.
