Description

You will manage, optimize, and secure a diverse range of relational and non-relational database systems.

Responsibilities

• Configure database parameters, user accounts, and permissions to meet specific organizational needs.
• Execute regular maintenance including OS patching, software updates, and security applications.
• Develop and implement backup and recovery plans that satisfy RTO and RPO requirements.
• Monitor system health and performance metrics such as CPU, disk I/O, memory, and query execution times.
• Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks by rewriting inefficient queries, adjusting indexes, and tuning parameters.
• Establish security standards for password management, data encryption, and access control.
• Collaborate with developers to resolve database design flaws or code-level issues.

Required Skills

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience as a DBA.
• Proficiency with MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch, Cassandra, MariaDB, or IBM Db2.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
• Database Administration Certification in Oracle, MS-SQL, MySQL, or Postgres.
• Ability to select appropriate hardware and software based on database size and user load.
• Experience implementing index defragmentation and database shrinking tasks.
• Strong communication skills and organizational abilities.

Preferred Skills

• MS-SQL DBA experience.
• Working knowledge of AWS RDS.
• Knowledge of cloud computing and elastic computing in virtualized environments.
