Description

You will own the database infrastructure, ensuring scalability, performance, and security across Azure and on-premise environments.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Enhance scalability and performance of existing database architecture.
• Develop and enforce security, restoration policies, and data controls.
• Conduct diagnostic tests and evaluate database performance metrics.
• Perform database maintenance, migrations, and hardware/software upgrades.
• Document processes and ensure compliance with database management best practices.

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of SQL Server (IaaS and PaaS on Azure) and on-premise setups.
• Hands-on experience with Unix/Linux command line operations.
• Experience with Performance Tuning and Query Optimization using tools like SQLProfiler.
• Ability to detect and troubleshoot SQL Server resource contention (CPU, memory, I/O).
• Experience in troubleshooting database integrity issues, blocking, and deadlocking.
• Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for Azure PaaS, MSSQL Server, and MongoDB.
• Familiarity with backups, restores, and various recovery models.
• Knowledge of physical design concepts, RAID/SAN, and index management.

Preferred Skills

• 3+ years of experience in database administration.
• Experience with MongoDB administration and optimization.
