Roles and Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, operate, and scale multi-region CockroachDB clusters in production environments
• Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and data consistency for globally distributed clusters
• Monitor cluster health, latency, replication status, and resource utilization using observability tools
• Perform capacity planning and proactive scaling for future growth
• Design and implement disaster recovery strategies including backup/restore and failover/fallback

Skills Required:

• 6-12 years of relevant experience as a DBA / database administrator
• CockroachDB administration for multi-region production clusters
• SQL proficiency for database operations and schema management
• Database clustering concepts for distributed systems (replication, range/lease behavior)
• Backup and restore, disaster recovery, and point-in-time recovery processes

Good to Have:

• Automation and scripting for provisioning, scaling, and operational workflows
• Experience with on-call rotations and incident response for production databases

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
