Description

You will own database infrastructure design, migration, and performance tuning across Azure Cloud and on-premises environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement database instances (Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, Cassandra) using IaaS and PaaS services in Azure.
• Define systems integration interfaces and transitionary steps for platform reengineering to ensure data and business continuity during cloud migration.
• Migrate application data from on-premises databases to cloud environments using DMS and other migration tools.
• Perform root cause analysis, daily maintenance, and problem resolution for production and development databases, including on-call support.
• Tune database and application performance, manage backups and recovery, and optimize resources in consultation with development teams.

Required Skills

• 7-9 years of Oracle Database Administration experience on UNIX/Linux platforms.
• 2-3 years of experience in systems integration, software development, message-based middleware, SOA, APIs, and legacy integration techniques.
• 2-3 years of MySQL experience and familiarity with other DBMS technologies.
• Key experience with Azure RDS and Azure Stream Analytics (ingesting from Event Hubs, IoT Hub, Blob Storage; outputting to Functions, Service Bus).
• Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and UNIX shell scripting.
• 3 years of experience in performance tuning, backup/recovery, and scalability/capacity planning.
• IT troubleshooting and problem-solving experience.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with data synthesis and analysis of consumer, commerce, and logistics datasets.
