Description

You will manage and maintain DB2/UDB databases across AIX, z/OS, and Linux platforms. You will plan and implement DB2 upgrades, patches, and the deprecation of legacy databases. You will execute ETL routines using DB2 load/unload utilities, DB2 Connect, and other data warehousing tools. You will provide technical assistance to developers regarding DB2, COBOL, JCL, and SQL. You will support batch jobs on z/OS, including scheduling, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Perform data refreshes across development, test, and UAT environments.
• Design, tune, and support database structures, managing tables, indexes, and schema development.
• Develop and maintain UNIX shell scripts to monitor tablespace and buffer pool usage.
• Provide on-call coverage for OLTP applications on the z/OS platform.
• Manage database changes across production and various subsystems.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in database administration.
• Proficiency with DB2 and z/OS environments.
• Strong knowledge of COBOL, JCL, and SQL.
• Experience with ETL processes and data extraction from z/OS to distributed platforms.
• Ability to write and maintain UNIX shell scripts.
• Experience supporting Java-based applications using JDBC and SQLJ.
• Knowledge of implementing recovery strategies using RMAN.
• Understanding of information systems architecture and database design principles.
