Description

Manage and maintain DB2/UDB databases across AIX, z/OS, and Linux platforms, ensuring high availability and performance.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement DB2 upgrades, patches, and deprecation of legacy databases.
• Execute ETL routines using DB2 load/unload utilities, DB2 Connect, and data warehousing tools.
• Support batch jobs on z/OS, including scheduling, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Design, tune, and support database structures, managing tables, indexes, and schema development.
• Provide on-call coverage for OLTP applications and technical assistance to developers.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in database administration.
• Proficiency with DB2 and z/OS environments.
• Strong knowledge of COBOL, JCL, and SQL.
• Experience with ETL processes and data extraction from z/OS to distributed platforms.
• Ability to write and maintain UNIX shell scripts for monitoring tablespace and buffer pool usage.
• Experience supporting Java-based applications using JDBC and SQLJ.
• Knowledge of implementing recovery strategies using RMAN.
• Understanding of information systems architecture and database design principles.
