Description

Manage and maintain core database infrastructure across Oracle and AWS environments, ensuring high availability and performance.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Provision and manage RDS instances and clusters, configuring instance classes, autoscaling, Multi-AZ, and parameter groups.
• Govern the database lifecycle, including automated backups, snapshots, KMS encryption, patching, and version upgrades.
• Design and operate Redshift clusters, managing Workload Management (WLM), concurrency scaling, and queue management.
• Implement monitoring and alerting using CloudWatch and Performance Insights to tune connections and queries.
• Build CI/CD pipelines using CodePipeline or GitHub Actions to deploy CDK applications across environments.

Required Skills

• 4–7+ years as an Oracle DBA, with 3+ years specifically on AWS data services.
• Expertise in Oracle 19c, RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, ASM, and OEM.
• Hands-on administration of Amazon RDS (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MSSQL) and Amazon Redshift.
• Proficiency with AWS CDK (TypeScript or Python), CloudFormation, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Expert-level performance tuning of SQL and Oracle instances, including AWR/ASH analysis and wait event diagnosis.
• Experience optimizing database schema (distribution/sort keys, VACUUM/ANALYZE) and ensuring workload isolation.
• Experience with monitoring tools like CloudWatch and Performance Insights, and cost management practices.
• Possession of at least one Oracle (OCP) and one AWS certification.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with GitHub for version control and collaboration.
• Advanced knowledge of PostgreSQL and MSSQL administration within AWS.
