Description

Own the migration of on-premise Oracle databases to Oracle Exadata Cloud Service and manage the full lifecycle of Exadata systems on OCI.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, and manage Exadata systems deployed on OCI, including installation, patching, and lifecycle maintenance.
• Monitor system performance and optimize Exadata storage, compute nodes, and networking resources for peak throughput.
• Implement high availability, backup, and disaster recovery strategies using OCI tools, RAC, ASM, and Data Guard.
• Troubleshoot complex database, infrastructure, and performance issues; analyze AWR, ASH, and ADDM reports to propose tuning actions.
• Automate routine administrative tasks using Shell, Python, Ansible, or Terraform and ensure security hardening and compliance.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator with deep expertise in Oracle technologies.
• Proven experience migrating on-premise Oracle databases to Oracle Exadata Cloud Service.
• Strong proficiency in OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) deployment and management.
• Hands-on experience with Linux administration and shell scripting.
• Proficiency in Python, Ansible, and Terraform for automation and infrastructure as code.
• Expertise in SQL query optimization, execution plans, indexing strategies, and memory structure tuning (SGA, PGA).
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with capacity planning and cost optimization for cloud database workloads.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure system stability.
