Description

You will manage enterprise database administration, modernization, and performance optimization for the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Manage enterprise database administration, maintenance, and security protocols.
• Monitor and optimize database and server performance in Unix environments.
• Perform database migrations, installations, upgrades, and patching.
• Support Azure Synapse and Data Warehouse modernization and automation initiatives.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and resolve tickets.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of IT business or industry experience.
• 5+ years of Oracle Database Administration experience.
• Strong proficiency in PL/SQL, SQL, T-SQL, stored procedures, functions, packages, and triggers.
• Experience with Oracle WebLogic and Sun Solaris operating systems.
• Ability to support multiple medium-to-high complexity databases with concurrent users.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience designing logical databases and data models.

Preferred Skills

• Oracle Database Administration 2019 Certified Professional.
• Experience with Azure Synapse and Data Warehouse environments.
• Background in database modernization and automation efforts.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, MIS, or related field, or equivalent experience with 5 years of work in IT, systems analysis, management analysis, program planning, research, or evaluation.
