You will design, implement, and manage scalable database architectures and high-end application solutions for on-site operations in Albany, NY.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design database applications including interfaces, data transfer mechanisms, partitions, and function-based indexes.
• Plan and install DBMS software upgrades to enhance performance, security, and reliability.
• Develop data models, metadata tables, views, and load-balancing processes to eliminate downtime.
• Set up database clusters, backup, and recovery processes.
• Create and enforce database development standards and document schemas using accepted notations.

Required Skills

• 7+ years designing and architecting scalable applications, including Oracle Forms and Reports.
• 7+ years developing in PL/SQL, SQL*Plus, and SQL (stored procedures, functions, packages, and triggers).
• 7+ years programming with Oracle DBMS versions 11g and higher.
• 7+ years creating UNIX shell scripts for UNIX, NT, and PC environments.
• 5+ years in legacy application modernization.
• 5+ years writing web services using XML and SOAP.
• Strong SQL expertise on Postgres in UNIX/LINUX-based environments.
• Expertise in Azure Database for PostgreSQL and Cosmos DB (NoSQL).
• Proficiency in performance analysis, tuning, and optimization.

Preferred Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Deep knowledge of the Medical domain and Data Governance.
