Description

Essential Job Functions 

• Designs, develops and optimizes ETL/ELT solutions using data warehouse design best practices for MS SQL and Azure Data Factory ETL/ELT solutions.
• Analyzes data requirements, complex source data, and the data model, and determine the best methods in extracting, transforming, and loading the data into the data staging, warehouse, and other system integration projects.
• Analyzes business requirements and outline solutions.
• Provides technical assistance in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems and procedures.
• Documents all technical, ETL and data warehouse processes and flows.
• Designs and develops automated data audit and validation processes.
• Designs, develops and deploys ETL job workflow with reliable error/exception handling and rollback.
• Defines data administration tasks such as scheduling jobs, troubleshooting job errors, identifying issues with job windows, assisting with Database backups and performance tuning.
• Designs, develops, tests, adapts ETL code & jobs to accommodate changes in source data and new business requirements.
• Creates Ad-hoc reports, data driven subscription reports by using enterprise analytics and reporting tools.
• Builds custom reports and business dashboards utilizing BI tools like Power BI, Tableau, and other industry leading tools.
• Develops, contributes, and adheres to the development of standards and sound procedural practices.
• Proactively communicates innovative ideas, solutions, and capabilities over and above the specific task request.
• Effectively communicates status, workloads, offers to assist other areas.
• Collaboratively works with a team and independently. Continuously strives for high performing business solutions.
• Designs access control mechanisms and enforces data security standards.
• Performs and coordinates unit and system integration testing.
• Leads design review sessions and ensures all solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications.
• Optimizes and ensures data quality throughout the entire ETL process, including audits and feedback loops to sources of truth.
• Mentors junior-level developers to help expand their knowledge and skillset.
• Conducts code reviews to ensure delivery of high-quality standards.
• Provides level 3 support for supported platforms.

Additional Job Functions 

• Ensures all production changes follow the standard change request process.
• Occasional travel required to perform installations on project sites, onsite project support and training.
• Minimizes impact to user’s software installations and upgrades may need to be conducted outside of normal business hours, and occasionally on weekends.
• Supports corporate safety programs as necessary.
• Follows industry security best practices.
• Performs other duties per supervisor’s discretion.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

• Extensive experience with web service integrations (WWS, SOAP, REST, WSDL, and XML).
• Broad experience with database and integration tools (SQL Server, Azure SQL, Boomi, Azure Data factory).
• With access to company information, you must have the ability to keep strict confidentiality.
  • Ability to utilize tools like Azure DevOps to prioritize and complete work in an agile methodology.
  • Able to work independently and be productive in an environment where priorities change.
  • Strong analytical skills and proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written), organization and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated, ability to work within Corporate IT guidelines, passionate about quality of work, and ability to thrive in a team environment.
  • Expert knowledge in MS SQL Development (SQL queries, Stored Procedures, Functions, etc.).
  • Valid license and acceptable driving record required for the ability to travel as needed.
  • Experience with Backup / Recovery strategies
