Description

Design, maintain, and optimize PostgreSQL-based database systems, ensuring performance, reliability, and security across the data layer.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Design, normalize, and create database schemas for complex applications.
• Write, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions.
• Tune database performance by analyzing indexing strategies and query execution plans.
• Manage database operations including backup, recovery, and replication processes.
• Automate maintenance and deployment tasks using Bash and Python scripting.

Required Skills

• 6+ years of professional experience as a Database Developer.
• Expert proficiency in PostgreSQL, including deep knowledge of architecture (WAL, Postmaster).
• Strong command of SQL and MS SQL Server.
• Proven experience with query optimization and performance tuning.
• Proficiency in scripting languages, specifically Bash and Python.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (Git).
• Knowledge of database security best practices and cloud solutions.
• Experience using tools such as pgAdmin and psql.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Autosys for job scheduling and automation.
