Description

You will own the development, migration, and optimization of data pipelines, ETL processes, and reporting systems for public health surveillance.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Migrate and rewrite legacy SAS code into MS T-SQL stored procedures and SSIS packages.
• Design and implement ETL solutions, data pipelines, and data warehouse integrations.
• Parse and process structured data formats including XML, CSV, SOAP, and HL7 v2.x.
• Monitor production systems, debug processing issues, and optimize query performance.
• Maintain process documentation, data flows, and compliance with CDC/HIPAA security standards.

Required Skills

• 3+ years of experience with MS T-SQL, including advanced query design, stored procedures, and optimization.
• 3+ years of experience with ETL process development and data warehousing.
• 1+ year of experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
• 3+ years of experience with report development and data visualization tools.
• 3+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2016+).
• 3+ years of experience with XML parsing and data manipulation.
• 1+ year of experience with HL7 v2.3.1–2.5.1 and ORU messages.
• Understanding of data security standards including HIPAA, PHI, PII, and CDC requirements.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Statistical Analysis System (SAS) and legacy process migration.
• Familiarity with public health systems such as CDC SAMS, eHARS, or EpiTrax.
• Ability to manage large datasets (1 TB+).
