Description

You will design, develop, and maintain scalable PostgreSQL database schemas and optimize complex SQL queries and stored procedures.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain PostgreSQL schemas, including tables, indexes, views, and materialized views.
• Optimize performance by resolving slow queries, index inefficiencies, vacuuming issues, and deadlocks using EXPLAIN ANALYZE and pg_stat_activity.
• Manage high availability using streaming replication, logical replication, or Patroni.
• Build and manage ETL pipelines using Unix Shell Scripts or native PostgreSQL COPY commands.
• Execute environment refreshes for DEV/QA/UAT/pre-production using sanitized production backups.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Expertise in PostgreSQL and PL/pgSQL.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, and Shell Scripting.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle, Snowflake, MySQL, or DB2.
• Experience with ETL processes and data modeling.
• Competency with GIT for version control.
• Experience using database tools like Workbench or Toad.
