Description

You will design, develop, and maintain large-scale, high-availability database solutions for enterprise environments. You own the database architecture lifecycle, from requirements analysis and data modeling to deployment and ongoing performance tuning. You collaborate with development teams to ensure data integrity, security, and optimal application performance. You also mentor junior developers and enforce security and disaster recovery standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement database schemas, indexing strategies, and data models aligned with project specifications.
• Lead database deployment, including configuration, security setup, and backup/recovery planning.
• Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and refactor code for efficiency.
• Mentor junior team members, conduct code reviews, and promote best practices.
• Support migration, upgrade, and redundancy planning to ensure business continuity.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience in database development, architecture, and management.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and RDBMS (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL).
• Experience with cloud database solutions: AWS (RDS/Aurora), Azure SQL Database, or GCP Cloud SQL.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Shell for automation.
• Deep understanding of data modeling, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Experience managing large-scale, resilient database solutions in enterprise environments.
• Familiarity with database development tools like SQL Developer or TOAD.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with automation and monitoring tools (e.g., Ansible, Nagios, CloudWatch).
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases (Cassandra, MongoDB) and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience with data migration, replication, and disaster recovery techniques.
