Description

You will own hands-on PostgreSQL development, focusing heavily on SQL performance and internals rather than DBA tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Tune PostgreSQL queries and optimize database performance at a deep level.
  • Develop complex logic using PL/pgSQL, including functions, procedures, and triggers.
  • Execute data migrations from source systems like Oracle, MySQL, or DB2.
  • Design and implement database schemas, managing constraints and transactions.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of production experience with PostgreSQL.
  • Expertise in Advanced SQL Query Optimization and Performance Tuning.
  • Proficiency in writing and debugging PL/pgSQL code.
  • Hands-on experience using PostgreSQL Explain Plans and Explain Analyze.
  • Knowledge of Indexing Strategies, Constraints, and Transactions.
  • Experience with data migration techniques (COPY, FDW, Custom Loaders).
  • Familiarity with SQL, PL/pgSQL, and database schema design.
  • Experience troubleshooting production database issues.
