Job Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Database Automation Engineer to automate DBA operations across Oracle, MSSQL, and PostgreSQL environments. The goal is to improve operational efficiency, reduce ticket volumes, and enhance mean time to resolution (MTTR) through intelligent automation and self-service workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Automate DBA operational activities using PowerShell and/or Python
• Build automation playbooks using Ansible, Puppet, or similar orchestration tools
• Analyse DBA tickets and automate repetitive activities
• Automate user provisioning, access management, and role assignments
• Automate database health checks, maintenance, job monitoring, remediation, refreshes, cloning, and backup/recovery validation
• Integrate automation with IAM, monitoring, and observability tools
• Implement self-service and event-driven auto-remediation workflows
• Develop ServiceNow or ticketing tool workflows for service requests and automated fulfilment
• Identify process improvements to reduce manual effort and MTTR

Required Skills

• PowerShell and/or Python automation
• Oracle & MSSQL DBA experience
• Ansible, Puppet, or equivalent orchestration tools
• DBA operations and automation
• ServiceNow or comparable ticketing tool workflow automation
• Workflow and process automation
