Description

You will manage and scale large-scale production database systems handling terabytes of data.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable on-prem and cloud-based database systems on Google Cloud Platform.
• Develop automation solutions using Terraform, Ansible, and Python for database provisioning and management.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize database performance to proactively address bottlenecks.
• Establish and enforce backup, recovery, and disaster recovery protocols to protect data integrity.
• Lead incident resolution, analyze root causes, and participate in 24x7 on-call rotations.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience managing large-scale production database systems.
• Expertise in MySQL administration and replication.
• Strong background in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or AWS database deployments.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and Ansible.
• Skilled in Python and Bash scripting for automation.
• Hands-on experience with Liquibase or Flyway for database automation.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools including Prometheus, Grafana, PMM, and the ELK stack.
• Solid foundation in database architecture, optimization, and CI/CD concepts.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Elasticsearch, Kafka, Hadoop, or Vertica.
• Relevant AWS or GCP certifications.
