Description

You will design, deploy, and maintain Cassandra clusters across development, stage, and production environments.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery capabilities in Cassandra deployments.
• Collaborate with application teams to optimize data models based on data access patterns.
• Monitor and tune Cassandra cluster performance, compaction strategies, and throughput.
• Automate operational tasks using scripting (Python, Bash) and IaC tools (Ansible, Terraform).
• Define and enforce best practices for schema design, replication, and consistency levels.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience with distributed systems.
• Deep understanding of Cassandra internals, including repair mechanisms.
• Proficiency in NoSQL and experience with Cassandra drivers (Java, Python).
• Experience using monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or DataStax OpsCenter.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for complex distributed systems.
• Experience with data migration across heterogeneous systems.
• Familiarity with multi-region and hybrid cloud deployments.
• Proficiency in automation tools: Ansible, Terraform, Bash, Python.
• Experience with Java or Python development environments.

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to Kubernetes and Cassandra operators.
• Experience with complementary NoSQL technologies like Redis or MongoDB.
