Description

You will own the data migration and streaming architecture moving on-prem DB2 to AWS PostgreSQL and AWS MongoDB.

Responsibilities

• Design DB2 to Postgres to Mongo target architecture and cutover approach.
• Build and operate Kafka pipelines using Precisely for CDC, topics, replay, and error handling.
• Define and implement transformation rules converting raw relational data into MongoDB documents.
• Model MongoDB collections, indexes, sharding, and TTL/retention policies for transaction cache use cases.
• Ensure data quality, reconciliation, security controls, monitoring, and runbook maintenance.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in database engineering.
• Strong design and tuning experience with DB2 and PostgreSQL.
• Expertise in AWS MongoDB modeling and performance architecture.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka streaming and CDC/replication (Precisely preferred).
• Fundamental AWS knowledge including networking, IAM, encryption, and monitoring.
• Production operations experience for high-availability data systems.
• Ability to partner with app teams on query patterns, SLAs, and schema evolution.
