Description

You will design, develop, and maintain database infrastructure to manage data efficiently and securely across varying scales.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain database architecture, ensuring data integrity through validation rules, constraints, and referential integrity.
• Optimize performance by analyzing query execution plans, implementing indexing strategies, and improving retrieval mechanisms.
• Automate data import processes by developing workflows and scripts to migrate data from spreadsheets or other sources to relational or cloud systems.
• Implement data security measures, including access controls and encryption, to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and full-stack developers to support efficient data access and estimate development efforts.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in database engineering or development.
• Proficiency in SQL and relational database management systems such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Strong experience with Python for scripting, automation, and data manipulation.
• Hands-on experience with AWS RDS and Google BigQuery.
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
• Knowledge of database design principles and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience implementing data security, encryption, and compliance standards.
• Ability to work with both small-scale databases and big data processing environments.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with data warehousing tools like Snowflake or Redshift.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools, APIs for data ingestion, or serverless technologies like AWS Lambda and GCP Dataflow.
