Database Engineer

You will manage the full operational lifecycle of traditional RDBMS and modern NoSQL database technologies.

Responsibilities

• Define technology roadmaps and standards for RDBMS and specialized NoSQL databases.
• Automate deployment, maintenance, patching, backup, recovery, and decommissioning procedures.
• Provide 24x7 operational support, managing uptime, system performance, and root cause analysis.
• Execute security compliance activities, including security reviews, control implementation, and logging.
• Offer end-to-end advisory and support to application developers.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in data or database-centric roles.
• In-depth experience with MySQL and core database concepts.
• Proficiency in Python and shell scripting for operational automation.
• Experience with performance tuning, capacity planning, and query optimization.
• Strong understanding of operational processes and automation.
• Degree in Information Technology or a related field.
• Experience supporting critical database infrastructure.
• Knowledge of Db2, Oracle, or MS SQL.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) as it impacts persistent data tiers.
• Experience collaborating with infrastructure teams and other technologies.
