Description

You define and lead the enterprise database architecture strategy, owning scalable, secure data designs that support modern application development across multiple product lines.

Responsibilities

• Drive the migration of legacy on-prem databases to modern cloud or hybrid platforms, including replatforming and refactoring.
• Evaluate, recommend, and implement cloud-based database technologies across Azure, AWS, and GCP managed services.
• Partner with development and DevOps teams to establish data governance, modeling standards, indexing strategies, and performance tuning practices.
• Ensure data security, compliance, and resilience while providing technical mentorship to developers and database engineers.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in database architecture, engineering, or related roles.
• Strong expertise with Azure SQL and Azure PostgreSQL.
• Hands-on experience with DB2, with IBM iSeries experience strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with SQL Server, MySQL, and NoSQL databases.
• Deep understanding of PostgreSQL across various environments.
• Strong SQL design, performance tuning, normalization, and indexing skills.
• Experience with data modeling tools, ERD, dimensional modeling, and ETL/ELT integration.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with AWS and GCP cloud database platforms.
• Knowledge of streaming technologies and domain-driven design concepts.
