Roles and Responsibilities:

• Perform end-to-end migrations from SQL Server to Cloud SQL, including schema conversion, validation, and workload readiness checks.
• Configure DMS migration jobs and CDC to enable continuous replication and minimize downtime during cutover.
• Optimize SQL queries and database workloads for performance on Cloud SQL; benchmark pre/post migration.
• Execute data validation through integrity checks and reconciliation; manage cutover and rollback strategies.
• Implement security and connectivity requirements using IAM, encryption/compliance practices, and GCP networking with VPN.

Skills Required:

• 8-10 years of experience in database migration, replication, and performance optimization
• SQL Server and Cloud SQL migration experience
• DMS with CDC configuration, troubleshooting, and replication reliability
• SQL optimization for performance tuning and workload benchmarking
• Migration strategies including cutover/rollback planning, plus automation using Python/Shell, Git, and CI/CD

Good to Have:

• Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and repeatable migration environments
• Multi-cloud migration experience

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
