Description

You will serve as the subject matter expert for DB2 LUW environments, owning the lifecycle of database infrastructure and performance.

Responsibilities

• Plan, document, and execute database upgrades, migrations, and new environment setups.
• Troubleshoot database issues and provide performance tuning support for SQL, stored procedures, and space usage.
• Analyze SQL statements and indexes to provide performance recommendations to development teams.
• Implement fixpacks, security patches, and participate in disaster recovery exercises.
• Monitor production databases and DBM settings to optimize performance and throughput.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience with core DB2 LUW concepts.
• Advanced scripting skills for database automation.
• Experience with DB2 HADR and HACMP.
• Proficiency in SQL tuning, index analysis, and application monitoring.
• Ability to configure DB2 Connect Server and Client and install ODBC drivers.
• Experience managing metadata, metrics, and trending.
• Capability to work with vendors on tuning recommendations.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of Qreplication.
