Description

Own the lifecycle of DB2 LUW database infrastructure, performance tuning, and availability.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations, and new environment setups.
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide performance tuning for SQL, stored procedures, and space usage.
• Analyze SQL statements and indexes to deliver performance recommendations to development teams.
• Implement fixpacks, security patches, and participate in disaster recovery exercises.
• Monitor production databases and DBM settings to optimize performance and throughput.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of core DB2 LUW experience.
• Advanced scripting skills for database automation.
• Experience with DB2 HADR and HACMP.
• Proficiency in SQL tuning, index analysis, and application monitoring.
• Ability to configure DB2 Connect Server and Client and install ODBC drivers.
• Experience managing metadata, metrics, and trending.
• Capability to work with vendors on tuning recommendations.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of Qreplication.
