Description

Lead the migration of databases from Oracle to PostgreSQL, owning the end-to-end transition strategy and execution.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement migration strategies for Oracle to PostgreSQL transitions, assessing existing schemas for dependencies and compatibility.
• Convert Oracle schemas to PostgreSQL-compatible formats while ensuring data integrity and resolving performance bottlenecks.
• Execute data migration processes using tools like AWS DMS or SCT to minimize downtime and maintain consistency.
• Optimize SQL queries and database configurations for PostgreSQL performance, validating results through comprehensive testing.
• Document migration procedures and provide technical support to internal teams throughout the process.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in database administration and migration projects.
• Specialized experience in Oracle to PostgreSQL migrations, including deep understanding of relational database concepts and SQL.
• Proficiency in Oracle and PostgreSQL administration, covering performance tuning, backup, recovery, and security.
• Experience with migration tools such as AWS Database Migration Service or AWS Schema Conversion Tool.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Preferred Skills

• Master's degree in a related technical field.
• Certifications in Oracle or PostgreSQL administration.
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, or Kubernetes.
