Description

You will administer production databases to ensure smooth, ongoing system functioning.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Supervise database installation, upgrades, clustering, and performance tuning activities.
• Manage backup procedures and change management processes.
• Analyze database systems to identify and recommend improvements.
• Ensure smooth functioning of production databases through ongoing monitoring.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of IT experience (11+ years if non-engineering graduate).
• Administration of at least two databases from: Oracle 9i, 10g, DB2, MS SQL, or PostgreSQL (4+ years experience required).
• Solid knowledge of PL/SQL programming.
• Experience with database performance tuning and clustering.
• Professional certifications: OCA-DBA, OCP-DBA, or MCDBA.
• B. Tech / B. E in CS/IT/EE or MCA (or any graduate with 11+ years experience).

Preferred Skills

• Experience with database upgradation and change management activities.
