Description

You design and execute database migration architectures, guiding customers from on-premises Oracle and SQL Server environments to AWS services like Aurora, DynamoDB, and RDS.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Assess existing database environments to identify migration candidates and design comprehensive architectures using AWS DMS and Schema Conversion Tool.
• Conduct hands-on proof-of-concept engagements to demonstrate performance, compatibility, and operational benefits of AWS databases.
• Provide technical guidance on schema conversion, stored procedure refactoring, and application compatibility for seamless migrations.
• Develop detailed migration runbooks, cutover plans, and rollback strategies for production database migrations.
• Support competitive technical evaluations and create reusable migration tools, scripts, and best-practice documentation.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in database architecture and migration.
• Deep expertise with AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) and Schema Conversion Tool.
• Strong knowledge of Amazon Aurora, Amazon DynamoDB, and Amazon RDS.
• Proven experience migrating from Oracle and SQL Server to AWS.
• Ability to design native replication approaches and handle complex schema conversions.
• Experience creating technical workshops, immersion days, and enablement sessions.
• Strong skills in technical evaluation and customer engagement.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in competitive technical evaluations against other cloud database offerings.
• Background in migration tool development and best-practice documentation creation.
