Description

You will define and lead the enterprise database platform strategy across Oracle and SQL Server, balancing hands-on engineering with architectural governance.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Design long-term database architectures, modernization roadmaps, and high-availability/disaster-recovery patterns for mission-critical systems.
• Define and enforce database standards, governance models, and operational efficiency initiatives across business units.
• Lead cloud migration efforts, automation frameworks, and infrastructure-as-code implementations, with a preference for Azure.
• Mentor DBAs and development teams, providing technical authority and architectural guidance without direct people management.
• Partner with infrastructure and application architects to integrate database solutions into broader system designs.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience as a Database Technical Architect or Senior DBA.
• Advanced Oracle DBA expertise: installation, configuration, upgrades, performance tuning, backup, and recovery.
• Strong SQL Server administration experience, including performance tuning, security, and high availability.
• Proven track record in hybrid on-prem and cloud environments (Azure preferred).
• Proficiency in database automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and CI/CD pipelines.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, database internals, and large-scale architecture.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cloud-native databases, sharding models, and advanced resiliency patterns.
• Ability to communicate technical strategy in business terms to leadership and cross-functional boards.
