Description

You manage the physical and operational integrity of mission-critical datacenter infrastructure in Austin, TX.

Responsibilities

• Rack and stack hardware, perform OS installations, and provision Layer 1 network connections with basic first-hop connectivity testing.
• Manage hot spares, inventory, and rack-level space and power utilization, maintaining detailed setup diagrams and handover documentation.
• Monitor datacenter resources to ensure automated alerting and proactively inspect assets to identify issues before they impact production.
• Perform intermediate remote-hand troubleshooting for hardware, OS, and network issues, coordinating with ITAMS and vendors for parts and cabling.
• Coordinate with stakeholders on datacenter design and layout while supporting off-hour and weekend maintenance activities.

Required Skills

• 4+ years of experience in a complex mission-critical datacenter environment.
• Admin skills for managing Windows and Linux systems.
• Working knowledge of SNMP, rPDUs, UPS systems, and client systems.
• Intermediate understanding of networking concepts, topologies, and protocols.
• Experience managing hardware installation, troubleshooting, parts replacement, and inventory.
• Ability to create and maintain system diagrams, inventory logs, and spares management documentation.
• Strong time management and communication skills for coordinating with vendors and asset owners.
