Description

Lead the architecture and implementation of end-to-end monitoring and observability solutions using DataDog within an AWS environment.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design and administer DataDog backend components, including dashboards, monitors, custom metrics, and integrations.
• Manage the deployment, configuration, and optimization of AWS resources such as EC2, RDS, Lambda, ECS/EKS, and S3.
• Architect DataDog integrations with ServiceNow for automated incident management and CMDB synchronization.
• Integrate monitoring and logging into CI/CD pipelines and drive system reliability through SLO/SLI definitions and synthetic monitoring.
• Mentor junior engineers on observability best practices and participate in high-severity incident root cause analysis.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of AWS cloud infrastructure experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on DataDog backend administration experience.
• Proficiency in Python and Bash for scripting and automation.
• Experience managing AWS services including EC2, RDS, Lambda, ECS/EKS, and S3.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Terraform or CloudFormation for Infrastructure as Code.
• Current or recent experience working within the health insurance industry.

Preferred Skills

• Kubernetes monitoring and observability tools like Prometheus or Grafana.
• ServiceNow ITOM experience or ServiceNow-DataDog integration expertise.
• AWS certifications.
