Description

Lead the design and implementation of enterprise data warehousing and ETL solutions using IBM DataStage, dbt, and Snowflake.

Responsibilities

• Design, guide, and mentor system architecture for scalable data infrastructure and ETL pipelines.
• Build and maintain robust data warehouse systems, ensuring platform uptime, stability, and performance at scale.
• Develop and automate data ingestion workflows using Kafka, Hadoop, and Spark.
• Collaborate with data scientists and DBAs to create value-added features and optimize data models.
• Define deployment strategies, manage server resources, and implement monitoring and alerting systems.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in software/systems development with a strong focus on data engineering.
• Deep expertise in IBM DataStage, dbt (data build tool), and Snowflake.
• Strong background in ETL design and data warehouse architecture.
• Proficiency in big data technologies including Kafka, Hadoop, and Spark.
• Working knowledge of at least one language: PHP, Ruby, Python, JavaScript, Elixir, or Go.
• Strong Linux administration skills and experience with cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Digital Ocean).
• Experience with automation tools (Puppet, Ansible) and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Understanding of IT security best practices and computer networks.

Preferred Skills

• Experience managing production-scale infrastructure and defining subnet/backup strategies.
• Proven track record of mentoring teams and challenging system design decisions.
