Description

You will manage and support DB2, Postgres, and Oracle databases hosted on Azure cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve database incidents, performing root cause analysis and impact analysis for production issues.
• Manage high availability and disaster recovery (HADR, Always On, Golden Gate, RAC, Data Guard) to support functional recovery.
• Perform database maintenance, including backups, restores, firmware/fixpack patching, and software deployments in production.
• Execute performance tuning and optimization (PTO) using native monitoring tools and managing indexes and statistics.
• Implement operational automation through shell, PowerShell, or Python scripting.
• Collaborate with application teams on database defects, enhancement requests, and web server support.
• Plan storage and capacity requirements while maintaining Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documentation.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience supporting DB2 (Version 10+), Postgres, and Oracle.
• Experience managing databases on Azure cloud platforms and cloud-native resources.
• Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and writing stored procedures.
• Hands-on experience with Windows and Linux server environments.
• Strong scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, Perl, or Shell scripting.
• Knowledge of JSON and database automation.
• Experience with backup, recovery models, and disaster recovery implementation.
• Familiarity with ITIL practices, specifically change and incident management.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends when required for production support.

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to DevOps tools, container services, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of security product administration including PAM, PIM, DAM, and SIEM.
