Description

You will develop and maintain database applications on the IBM iSeries platform, focusing on modernization from RPG to SQL.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain database applications using dynamic SQL, temporary tables, and temporal tables.
• Convert existing RPG code into SQL stored procedures, implementing commitment control, table functions, and UDFs.
• Build application logic to interact with front-end systems via REST APIs.
• Perform performance tuning, logging, and exception handling for database operations.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in database engineering.
• Expert-level SQL stored procedure development on the IBM iSeries platform.
• Ability to read and interpret RPGIV, RPGLE, and RPGFree programs.
• Experience with embedded SQL and modernization from RPG to SQL stored procedures.
• Proficiency with IBM i tools including Aldon, RDi, and Client Access.
• Experience working with REST APIs, JSON, and XML.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, RPGIV, and RPGLE.
