Description

You will administer and maintain enterprise DB2 environments across development, test, and production.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain DB2 environments.
• Monitor health and performance, identifying bottlenecks and implementing tuning strategies.
• Design and validate backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures with regular testing.
• Implement security controls, user provisioning, and auditing based on organizational policies.
• Plan and execute database changes, schema updates, and data migrations with minimal downtime.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of hands-on DB2 administration experience in enterprise environments.
• Strong knowledge of DB2 utilities, backup and recovery strategies, and performance tuning.
• Proficiency with SQL, query analysis, and index optimization.
• Experience with high availability and disaster recovery approaches.
• Familiarity with change, incident, and problem management processes.
• Scripting for administration and automation using common shells or PowerShell.
• Experience in Agile delivery environments.

Preferred Skills

• Experience supporting large public sector or similarly scaled enterprises.
• Exposure to workload management, partitioning strategies, and query optimization tooling.
