Manage and optimize DB2 database environments for high availability and performance.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Manage, support, and maintain DB2 database environments to ensure high availability and performance.
• Analyze and optimize complex SQL queries, database objects, and resolve DB2 performance issues.
• Develop, modify, troubleshoot, and refactor DB2 stored procedures and database code.
• Collaborate with application development teams on database design, deployments, and production support.
• Monitor database health, resolve incidents, perform performance tuning, and implement best practices.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in DB2 Database Administration (DBA) and DB2 database development.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience in SQL performance tuning and query optimization on DB2.
• Strong experience in developing, debugging, and refactoring DB2 stored procedures.
• Expertise in DB2 database architecture, indexing, backup/recovery, and database troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, database performance analysis, and production support processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Must possess federal clearance.

Preferred Skills

• 4+ years of Scala development experience.
• Experience rewriting or modernizing DB2 stored procedures using Scala.
• Knowledge of enterprise application support and database migration projects.
