Description

You will design, maintain, and operate DB2 database applications in a complex, high-transaction production environment.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design DB2 applications for high availability and maximum performance.
• Maintain and develop procedures to ensure 24x7 database availability.
• Perform all DBA functions, including SQL code reviews and application-level performance tuning.
• Enforce DB2 security standards and manage DSNZPARM settings with systems programming staff.
• Evaluate and create backup and recovery strategies; participate in Disaster Recovery planning.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in DB2 database administration.
• Expert knowledge of DB2 z/OS 12 or higher in high transaction rate production environments.
• Proficiency in complex SQL coding and tuning, including Data Warehouse/OLAP design.
• Experience with DB2 attachments/interfaces such as DRDA and DB2Connect.
• Familiarity with core DB2 utilities, including V10 setup and execution.
• Skills in mainframe operations: TSO, ISPF, JCL, DFSORT, and REXX.
• Experience with IBM DB2 tools (e.g., IBM Data Studio, IBM DB2 Query Monitor, IBM OPTIM).
• Knowledge of Data Modeling (logical and physical design).

Preferred Skills

• DB2 V9 or V10 Certification.
• Experience with IMS Database and ETL tools like Informatica or InfoSphere.
