Description

You manage Db2 LUW servers and databases across the full product lifecycle, from development to production.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Configure, maintain, and automate database servers, including system health and performance monitoring.
• Perform full database recovery, roll forward recovery, and redirected restore operations to ensure no transaction loss.
• Execute database maintenance, start/stop operations, and release deployment activities, including after-hours support.
• Tune SQL queries using db2advisor and db2explain tools to assist developers.
• Manage database cloning using db2look and db2move across different platforms.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience as a Database Consultant.
• Expertise in Db2 LUW performance tuning, including buffer pool, database manager, and configuration parameter tuning.
• Proficiency with Db2 utilities including REORGCHK, RUNSTATS, EXPORT, IMPORT, and LOAD.
• Hands-on experience with troubleshooting tools such as db2diag, db2trace, db2dart, db2support, and db2pd.
• Strong knowledge of Db2 SQL, stored procedures, and snapshot/event monitors.
• Experience implementing high availability (HA), disaster recovery (DR), and data encryption at rest and in transit.
• Solid understanding of Linux environments, user access security, groups, and roles.
• Proficiency in scripting with Ms Powershell, Bash, or Vb Script.

Preferred Skills

• L1/L2 level knowledge in PostgreSQL.
