Description

You will manage DB2 infrastructure and application database functions to ensure stability, scalability, and performance.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Engineer database infrastructure for capacity planning, stability, and scalability.
• Execute schema changes, bottleneck analysis, and database maintenance.
• Manage database recovery, outage prevention, and resolution as a technical escalation point.
• Develop stored procedures, ETL processes, and tools while optimizing existing queries.
• Enforce database security, standards, and architectural guidelines.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience with DB2 on Linux (version 10 and above).
• Expertise in SQL, Temp tables, plan explains, MQTs, and MDCs.
• Deep knowledge of relational database performance tuning, indices, database statistics, reorgs, and de-normalization.
• Hands-on experience with OLTP, Data Warehouse design, and Federated database systems.
• Proficiency in scripting languages including Python, Perl, and Unix/K-Shell.
• Experience with database modeling tools and referential integrity constraints.
• Proven ability to lead outage resolutions and manage multi-team global turnovers.
