Description

Manage and optimize DB2 environments on z/OS at an L3 support level.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Execute DB2 version upgrades and migrations, applying PTFS and APARS.
• Perform database reorganizations, monitor thread/tablespace/index spaces, and execute offline utilities like DSNJU003 and DSNJU004.
• Maintain database security by managing user IDs, rights, privileges, and implementing compliance corrections.
• Handle database lifecycle tasks including creation, image copies, archive logs, and DB2 recycling.
• Perform performance tuning for databases and SQL, and manage disaster recovery setups.

Required Skills

• 12+ years of experience in DB2 administration on z/OS.
• Proficiency in SQL creation, SQL tuning, and DB2 command line execution.
• Experience with physical database definition (DDL) and logical database design.
• Expertise in online utilities including CHECKDATA, COPY, QUIESCE, and REPAIR.
• Ability to implement DBDC (CICS, DB2, or IMS) base software and related product installs/upgrades.
• Hands-on experience managing system catalogs and DB2 IVS products.
• Knowledge of offline utilities such as DSNJLOGF, DSNJU004, and DSNJU003.
• Competency in managing tablespaces, tables, indexes, views, and triggers.
